BPAS Launches Major Website Upgrade

BPAS, a national provider of defined contribution, actuarial, institutional trust and flex services to over 250,000 participants nationwide, has gone live with a major upgrade to its defined contribution system website. The rollout, which is being phased in over the next few months, is being launched in partnership with Envisage Information Systems, LLC.

BPAS uses the Sungard OmniPlus daily valuation system, and has utilized the PDS web product (acquired by Sungard) since 1998. “By partnering with Envisage”, says Barry Kublin, President of BPAS, “we acquired robust adviser web capabilities, enhanced analytical data for users, and most importantly, more control over the entire system to support the myriad of plan types we support.”

Paul Neveu, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, comments: “We realize that many plan sponsors and participants may never set foot in the BPAS offices, so for these users, the website essentially becomes ‘the face of the organization’. In addition to delivering a major aesthetic overhaul, the new site puts our clients and partners in a greater position of control than ever before, with features such as plan-level interactive messaging, book-of-business reporting, cross-plan searches, and research on recent transactions available at their fingertips.”

Technical highlights. Located in Central New York, Envisage Information Systems is the largest independent software development company exclusively focused on providing record keeping system and other web interfaces, data connection, and workflow automation products to America’s retirement plan industry. Since 1995, Envisage has been at the forefront of web technology, developing solutions for data-driven applications. The Enveritus suite of web products utilizes XML as well as highly optimized Remote Data Connectors to provide seamless, high speed integration into recordkeeping systems. By offering rapid, secure, and bi-directional movement of data, the Enveritus suite allows BPAS to continue using its OmniPlus recordkeeping system, while the web application communicates with Omni for all inquiries and transactions.

David Young, Vice President, Business Development comments, “Envisage is pleased to partner with BPAS and to help the firm deliver enhanced functionality to clients that was not available before. We remain committed to keeping Enveritus ahead of the pack by listening to the industry and delivering solutions to our clients’ needs under a release schedule that works for them. I’m grateful that we are able to help BPAS set a new standard with communicating information via the web, and we look forward to working with additional OmniPlus users in the future.”
